Bio of Jay F. Davis
Note: This makes me a little uncomfortable, but it seemed to make more sense to write this in the third person so that introducers can read (or adapt!) this when they introduce me before a presentation. Please forgive the audacity. Without further ado:
Jay F. Davis has a coveted set of skills that make him an outstanding information technology manager and visionary leader. A unique combination of integrity, IT savvy and outstanding communication skill set him apart from the crowd in the IT consulting world.
For the past 15 years he has worked as an independent computer consultant, specializing in database development, database architecture and internet applications. He has worked with end-users as well as corporate executives to design and implement complex data-centric software applications. Accordingly, he has a deep understanding of the elements of successful IT planning and strategy.
But that’s only part of the picture. In 1988, Mr. Davis completed his Master of Divinity from Emory University, building on a B.A. in Communications from Auburn University. Partly because of his degree in theology, Mr. Davis is a passionate advocate of business integrity through servant leadership. He has honed his communications ability through writing, public speaking and leading workshops on diverse topics.
Mr. Davis has also worked tirelessly not only to understand the technical details of computing, such as internet technologies, web-based marketing and database administration, but also the more philosophical underpinnings of today's information society. He has studied and commented on the importance of Microsoft's virtual OS-monopoly and the strategic importance of open-source (free) software to today's businesses.
Recently, working as a Part-Time CIO, Mr. Davis has enjoyed combining his interests in IT philosophy with his technical knowledge to provide strategic planning, prioritization and project management services for a growing business.
